District 14 (Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute, Western Isles)

I first became interest in Radio at age of 12 years (1951) and was introduction to Amateur Radio was by G8GA around that time. G8GA lived across the Road from me and I used to be invited into his Radio Shack where I was introduced to an HRO communications receiver and a home brewed transmitter.

At the age of 16 I was lucky enough to be selected for an electronic apprenticeship at the Royal Radar Establishment at Malvern and this eventually led me to become professionally qualified. I took the RAE at Stafford Technical College and originally held the call sign GM6CBF.

I am married with three children, and both my sons hold amateur radio licences. I later along with my sons took the Morse test and now hold the callsign GM0KZX

My main interests are home brew equipment and spend much time repairing electronic equipment. I look after District 14 Dunbartonshire, Argyll & Bute, Western Isles.
